Dysfunctional love affairs aren’t desirable in real life, but that doesn’t mean watching haunted characters hook up on the big screen isn’t fascinating. Through the decades, we’ve been entranced by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in Bonnie and Clyde (1967); Woody Allen and Diane Keaton in Annie Hall (1977); Richard Gere and Lauren Hutton in American Gigolo (1980); Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche in Damage (1992); and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in Twilight (2008). Although no where near as popular, we feel compelled to add the indie flick The Other Half (2016) to this list. Canadian actor Joey Klein showed off his skills behind the camera when he wrote, directed and co-produced this romantic drama. Not to be confused with the sci-fi movie Other Halves (2015), the film follows a grief-stricken bloke named Nickie (Tom Cullen) who moves from Britain to Toronto in an effort to deal with the loss of his brother. Soon, his intense sorrow turns to passion when he meets a bipolar local lady known as Emily (Tatiana Maslany). But if two wrongs don’t make a right, can two damaged lovers be right for each other? Maybe Anna (Deragh Campbell), Katherine (Nancy Palk), Kristin (Diana Bentley), Marie (Suzanne Clément), or Sammy (Mark Rendall) can offer some insights. Speaking of sights, Mr. Man loves looking at Mr. Cullen’s awesome abs and bare back. Of course, this pic might have reached a wider audience if topless Tom also went bottomless. In other words, we’d like to see his Other Half!
