When the indie flick The Rocky Horror Picture Show was released in 1975, no one knew the sci-fi musical would become a fan favorite. In addition to entertaining proto-glam weirdoes for decades via many a midnight screening, the campy romp was rebooted for the small screen as The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again (2016). The original film was made for just $1.4 million yet earned more than $225 million — not to mention a ton of spank bank interest due to its flesh flashing! In homage to retro creature features, this R rated B movie follows straightlaced sweethearts Janet Weiss (Susan Sarandon) and Brad Majors (Barry Bostwick). After their car breaks down on a rainy night, they wind up in the castle of Transylvanian transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). As you can imagine, Mr. Curry struts his stuff in black lingerie. Actually, so do Magenta (Patricia Quinn) and Columbia (Little Nell also known as Nell Campbell). Before morning, a panty-clad Brad and Janet will get in touch with themselves and the mad doctor — literally! While in bed, Frank-N-Furter tries to slip his hotdog into Brad. Too bad that happens off screen. But we do get to see their bulging briefs. Speaking of, the blonde god known as Rocky (Peter Hinwood) dons a gold, junk-hugging Speedo! Based on the same-named stage production of 1973, this skinematic adaptation was penned by Richard O’Brien who appears as the hunchback Riff Raff. The cult classic also includes Meatloaf. Yum yum!
