Dolemite (1975)

Mr. Man will always be in the mood for Shaft (1971), bahdumching, but for his money the far lesser-known Blaxploitation classic Dolemite (1975) is the defining film of the genre. Dig this: former stand-up comedian Rudy Ray Moore is Dolemite, the ass-kickin’, skull-splitting, woman-lovin’ titular pimp/club owner who is set up by his arch-rival Willie Green (D’Urville Martin) and finds himself sentenced to twenty years in prison for selling drugs, carrying guns and stealing furs. With the help of Queen Bee (Lady Reed), an aggressive madam with a mean streak, Dolemite gets sprung from lock up to help the cops hunt down Willie and to figure out who is really behind the flood of drugs destroying the community. With the help of a bevy of call girls who are also karate experts, Dolemite gets revenge. If you're thinking this sounds a whole lot like Black Dynamite (2009), then you're right! That one is basically a parody of this legendary flick crafted from a couple of its biggest fans. Mr. Man Dole-might be the film's biggest fan, because he couldn't get enough of Rudy Ray Moore’s muscular ass as he gives one of his many busty black babes a good time. We also see his sculpted chest, which shows he was doing some pushups in prison. Every jive turkey will be choking the chicken to that body! While Dolemite doesn't dole out a peek at his pecker, the portly white Mayor in the movie, Hy Pyke does. As the resident corrupt honky, Hy's in bed with a woman when his phone rings. He hops up and Hello Hy's hog! Can you dig it? You'll be begging for Moore Rudy Ray watching Dolemite!
