Such Good Friends (1971)

A minor surgery snowballs into a chaotic mess in the dramedy Such Good Friends (1971). Julie (Dyan Cannon) is a Manhattan socialite who enjoys a comfortable life thanks to fruits of her husband Richard’s (Laurence Luckinbill) labor as the editor of a prominent photography magazine. She enjoys her small circle of friends—the good-hearted yet inept Dr. Timothy Spector (James Coco), photographer Cal (Ken Howard) and  his live-in gal pal Miranda (Jennifer O’Neill). The pampered housewife’s life changes when Richard heads off to the hospital to get a mole removed and ends up in a coma thanks to Dr. Spector nicking an artery. As Richard’s prognosis grows more grim, Julie soon learns that her husband has been humping Miranda, but she’s just the tip of the iceberg. The discovery of a little black book (these were popular in the 70s?) turns up a plethora of pussy that ol’ Rich was indulging in.

You get to indulge in the smallest hint of hiney from James Coco along with shirtless sexiness from Howard and Luckinbill. But the real stunner is that the famed Burgess Meredith bares his buns while wearing an odd get-up over his privates. Too bad we didn’t get to see his Bemis!
