The Set is a 1970 arthouse drama that holds an important spot in Australian film history. It's the first Australian film to feature a gay storyline! Sean Myers plays a talented artist named Paul who just needs the right introductions to enter the highfalutin art circles in Sydney. When his girlfriend leaves town he finds time to explore his interests. In more ways than one! Paul begins working for an artist and eventually finds work as a set designer. In this world he meets Tony (Rod Mullinar) and the two have a hot and heavy gay love affair! Sadly the relationship ends and Paul attempts to take his own life. This is a drama that all Aussie film buffs should know about, especially since both Seth and Rod get naked. Any hardcore sexuality would have been too much to ask for at the time, but both men do show off their booties in their separate nude scenes. Forget sets, we like seeing their seats!
