Not to be confused with Suicide Squad (2016), The Suicide Squad (2021) is DC's attempt to reclaim the beloved property from the confusing mess of a film released five years earlier! This isn't a total do over, however, as the film does manage to retain a number of cast members from the original, while working plenty of fresh new characters into the mix. No stranger to comic book movies, James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy, Super) writes and directs this soft reboot where the villainous government agent Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) and her right hand man Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman) assemble a team of expendable villains to pull off a job that no hero would ever consider risking their life to accomplish. Along for the ride this time around are returning favorites Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), suiting up alongside new C and D-list DC comic book characters Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Peacemaker (John Cena), Polka Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Weasel (Sean Gunn), Javelin (Flula Borg), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Arm-Fall-Off-Boy (Nathan Fillion), and King Shark (Sylvester Stallone). The team must put an end to something called Operation Starfish, spearheaded by the even more villainous The Thinker (Peter Capaldi), before it puts an end to the world! Sadly the R-rated flick is more focused on language and violence to earn that rating, though there is a brief look at Juan Diego Botto's bare bottom after he bangs Harley Quinn, along with some shirtless action from Joel Kinnaman, and a scene where John Cena wears nothing but some tighty whities! These hotties will have you blowing a suicide WAD!
