Young American Bodies (2007)

Some small screen productions draw audiences in by an esteemed director, fascinating story or exotic vistas. Others pique your interest with a titillating title. While Young American Bodies (2007-2009) fails to deliver on the first three things, its name suggests a sexy premise. In fact, the micro-budget web series confirms there are perks to being a producer/actor/director since Joe Swanberg places his naked self in sex scenes with topless hotties such as Greta Gerwig and Mary Lee Giacalone. Not to be confused with the R rated flick Young People Fucking (2007), this mumblecore saga follows six Chicagoans in their tempestuous 20s. Consequently, the show shows off a lot of nudity! The series begins with a bang as Darwin (Clint Chilcott) reveals his chest and rump during a hump. If that’s not arousing enough, the camera focuses on the long dong of Ted (Karl Jacob) when he beds Maggie (Mollie Leibovitz) in another episode. To change things up, Noah (Ryan Smith) and Owen (Nathan Adloff) flash their collective abs, buns and junk while having gay sex. Not to be outdone, Kelly (Frank V. Ross) doffs his duds to be one with Dia (Kris Williams). The seductive act means we’re treated to a view of his bare back and butt in the sack. Better yet, Christopher (James Flynn) exposes all! With so much dudity, we can see where Swanberg got the idea for his later series Easy (2016-2019). In other words, what this erotic drama lacks in funds, it makes up for in flesh!
