Advice From a Caterpillar (1999)

The title of the adult-themed flick Advice from a Caterpillar (1999) comes from the classic children’s book “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” (1865). Based on Douglas Carter Beane’s same-named play, this urban fairy tale is set in modern-day New York (make that, in the Big Apple circa 1999). Under the direction of Don Scardino, the romantic comedy centers around an artist named Missy (Cynthia Nixon) who enjoys her work life and her love life. But her circumstances start to become complicated when she falls for the boyfriend of her gay best friend Spaz (Andy Dick) even though she’s already involved with an alluring executive (Jon Tenney). It’s coincidental that the latter dude is nicknamed “Suit” since he shows off his birthday suit while laying naked in bed. Alas, the handsome hunk covers his junk with a cap. “Is that a 10 gallon hat or is he just happy to see us?” No need to answer since this is a rhetorical question. Long story short, we are treated to a view of his nude chest. The story also includes Barbara (Kristine Nielsen), Lizbeth (Sarah Hyland), and the built bod on Brat (Timothy Olyphant). Fortunately for us, this pic provides some laughs, some tears, and some skin! Yes, Mr. Olyphant spends most of his screen time without a shirt on. If that’s not hot enough, the sizzling stud steams up the camera lens when he lounges in the buff on a bed. In other words, he reveals his bare back and round rump. So cheeky!
