Review

Two young L.A.P.D. cops get suspended after breaking up a bar fight.  How will they earn a living?  By becoming professional wrestlers, that’s how.  Sound silly? Sure, but that’s what makes Bad Guys (1986) a fun escape.  Adam Baldwin and Mike Jolly play the trunk wearing heroes who undergo some skintastically hilarious training from a “glad she’s not naked” Ruth Buzzi on their way to a climactic battle with arch rivals, the Kremlin Crushers.  Bad Guys is 80’s nostalgia and “rasslin” combined with some left over Cold War hostility and silliness.

It would have been fun to see Baldwin and Jolly hitting the mats for some skintense scenes.  Since this is a PG rated comedy, the best we get are some topless teases during the wrestling scenes.  The boys look good in their star spangled Speedos, grappling’ their way to a rousing conclusion.
