By now, the 20th century movie Modern Problems (1981) isn’t that modern. Not to be confused with the Charlie Chaplin classic Modern Times (1936), the romantic comedy Modern Romance (1981) or the humorous horror flick Modern Vampires (1998), this fantastical pic follows air traffic controller Max Fiedler (Chevy Chase) who has some troubles. For starters, his girlfriend Darcy Carson (Patti D’Arbanville) dumps him. And womanizer Mark Winslow (Dabney Coleman) is after her. The same can be said of Max’s buddy Barry (Mitch Kreindel). In fact, he runs into them everywhere which makes him jealous. This feels like déjà vu to Max since his other friend (Brian Doyle-Murray) is now living with his ex-wife (Lorraine Mary Kay Place). Rather than look inward to see what he’s doing wrong, Max stumbles onto some nuclear waste. The misstep actually gives him telekinesis. With this power, Max can win Darcy back. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade! Speaking of turning, flesh fans may be turned on when Mr. Coleman struts his stuff in the buff. The skintastic actor treats us to a scene showcasing his bare chest and nude booty. As you can see, he’s been out in the sun since his pale bum doesn’t match his tanned back. Nevertheless, we still think he’s hot! Under the direction of Ken Shapiro, the PG rated romp also includes Nell Carter as a voodoo-practicing maid and views of Mr. Chase without his shirt. Our only problem with Modern Problems is that we don’t get to see any cocks!
