Vision Quest (1985)

It’s often neglected in the pantheon of ‘80s teen dramas, but Vision Quest (1985) will always be remembered for providing Madonna with her screen debut. This doesn’t mean the film sucks, either. The pop star has a cameo performing in a club. Outside of the Material Girl, there’s Linda Florentino who stars as Carla, a free spirit who’s moved in as a tenant at the home of high-school wrestler Louden Swain (Matthew Modine). He’s going ga-ga for the hot babe under his roof. She’s his inspiration, too, prompting him to ponder his future and expand his horizons—like, um, writing an article for his high-school paper about the importance of a clitoris. The best thing about high-school themed films is the locker room scene, and Vision Quest follows suite with a brief shot of Modine dropping his briefs and showing his rear as he weighs in for a wrestling match. Matthew will have you wrestling to get your pants off.
