When displaced refugees come from all over the world to a new land, they are faced with plenty of obstacles like language barriers, culture shock, finding a home, and so much more. Now to make matters even stranger, the new version of immigrants that are washing up all over the shores of the world aren't just from another land, they are from another time and for Oslo police office, Lars Haaland (Nicolai Cleve Broch), he is right at the center of the influx of "timeigrants" or Beforeigners. Cut to seven years after the first Timeigrants start landing in modern time and the world still has no idea how/what/why this is happening, only that there seems to be three distinct eras they are coming from, the late 19th century, the Norse/Viking Era of 1000 years prior, and sometime around the Stone/Bronze Age. As more and more of these displaced people come from the past, they need to adapt, learn, grow, and integrate into the modern world and some do so quite nicely, like Alfhildr (Krista Kosonen), who is now the first Norse warrior woman to be hired by the Olso police department and is now Lars' newest partner, to help him solve the murders of new Beforeigners. As they make the rounds within the newly founded underworld of the old world, they begin to see there are ancient connections and crime lords that transcend modern day and history between certain people that go back thousands of years, including a Cro Magnon crime boss, Navn (Oddgeir Thune), who struts around naked, killing with ease, an old feud between Norse "prophets" Olav (Tobias Santlemann) and "Tommy" (Stig Henrik Hoff), shady cops like Jeppe (Odd-Thomas Williamson), and now ancient pimps and drug peddlers like Nabo (Mikkel Bratt Silset). This HBO series, a first of it's kind from Norway, certainly gives us plenty of Scandinavian skin to stare at!
