Curiosity may have killed the cat, but Curiosa (2019) will breathe skinematic life into your loins! Inspired by the real relationship between erotic photographer Pierre Louÿs (Niels Schneider) and authoress Marie de Régnier (Noémie Merlant), this 19th century-set biopic includes a lot of nudity! Louÿs was an erotomaniac which means he took pornographic pics of his many mistresses. But that doesn’t mean this foreign flick is solely filled with naked women. Some 12 minutes into Lou Jeunet’s movie, French writer Jean de Tinan (Émilien Diard-Detoeuf) shows the camera his bare buns as he gets a blowjob — while his friends film it. Please get us a print! Speaking of men steaming up the lens, Mr. Schneider is a total hottie! The skintastic actor flashes his fine flesh throughout this film. In fact, Niels reveals his abs, sack, shaft and ass while chatting to a chick in bed at the 35-minute mark. About 20 minutes later, a nude ingénue runs her long locks over Monsieur Schneider’s sleeping cock before pouring flour in his face to wake him up. Rise and shine! Suffice it to say, this costume drama doesn’t require many costumes at all. The historic story also includes Symbolist poet Henri de Régnier (Benjamin Lavernhe) and Parnassian poet José-Maria de Heredia (Scali Delpeyrat). What can Mr. Man say? Other than Curiosa has piqued his interest — as well as another part of the anatomy. To put it bluntly, you’ll be striking your piece while watching the striking men in this period piece!
