Review

Writer and director Bruce Robinson broke into filmmaking and is still best known for the cult classic Withnail and I (1987), based on his own experiences as a broke alcoholic, but in our opinion the best decision he ever made during his tenure as an artist in the medium of cinema was to give us a nice, clear look at Richard E. Grant’s great ass in his How to Get Ahead in Advertising (1989). The farcical film, which follows an advertising exec who’s generally not the most sane person in the world and who then proceeds to have a full on mental breakdown when trying to create an ad a pimple cream, features a scene in which our hero (played by Grant) has made a huge mess in the kitchen and is wearing nothing but an apron. We realize that he doesn’t even have underwear on when he turns away from the camera and his cute tush is on full display. Pull those buns out of the oven—they’re done!
