If you want to learn all about notorious figure skater Tonya Harding, check out I, Tonya (2017). Under the direction of Craig (Fright Night, Cruella) Gillespie, this box office hit is a mixture of the biopic, mockumentary and black comedy genres. Many may recall the two-time Olympian was banned from competing in 1994 when she was connected to an attack on fellow skater Nancy Kerrigan. If so, you probably saw the true-life version of this story play out in the news. But thanks to actress and producer Margot Robbie, Ms. Harding is portrayed with humanity and humor in this R rated pic. In fact, you may find yourself laughing or crying as she deals with her abusive mother (Allison Janney); her skating coaches (Bojana Novakovic and Julianne Nicholson); her bodyguard (Paul Walter Hauser); and her vindictive ex-husband Jeff Gillooly (Sebastian Stan). At the start of their relationship, Tonya (Robbie) and Jeff spend a hot time together in bed. During the steamy scene, we can see Mr. Stan’s bare back and bum as he bangs his babe 17 minutes into the flick. In other words, he puts the motion into this motion picture! No wonder, the film was nominated for five Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, three Independent Spirit Awards, and a Producers Guild of America Award. While Ms. Janney took home an Oscar, Golden Globe, and British Academy Film Award for her role, Mr. Stan won Mr. Man’s heart (and hard-on). Forget Tonya’s triple axel, Sebastian lands a “10” for his awesome ass!
