Insomnia (1997)

The thriller Insomnia (1997) is set in a Norwegian city with a 24-hour daylight cycle, and it follows Jonas Engström (Stellan Skarsgård), a sleep-deprived homicide detective, and his partner Erik Vik (Sverre Anker) as they try to solve the murder of a teenage girl. Not getting enough Zs sure clouds Jonas’ mind, enough so that he accidently kills Erik while trying to set a trap for the suspected killer. Instead of admitting to accidentally murdering his partner, Jonas tries to cover it up. But a highly intuitive local police officer Hilda (Gisken Armand) begins to see right through the sleepless detective’s ruse, and it’s only a matter of time before the truth surfaces. What also surfaces is the hunky upper body of Stellan Skarsgård when he changes shirts in a scene, along with a brief look at some butt and balls from Bjørn Moan while he bangs a lucky chick. Insomnia will give you skinsomnia!
