Losing Alice (2020)

There are a million different source materials from the olden days of fables that keep getting revisited and polished up into a modern retelling, and Faust seems to be the classic tale that keeps getting rebooted for our viewing pleasures!  In this Apple TV+ Israeli TV series Losing Alice, we follow an aging and ambitious 47 years old film director Alice (Ayelet Zurer), who is beginning to worry that she is fading into obscurity and her power around the industry is fleeting on the verge of turning 50 years old.  That is until she meets an enigmatic, sexy, and 24 year old femme fatale screenwriter Sophie (Lihi Kornowski) who offers her the opportunity to stay relevant with a genius screenplay for the ages.  As the story jumps around between flashbacks and flashforwards, we begin to see the classic tale of Faust work it's way out of the narrative of a this director who is clinging to the limited power that she has and uses eroticism, psychological torture between lovers, and guilt to paint a portrait of a women on the verge of giving up everything for unlimited relevance!  While the story is centered around the soul swapping ladies of power in the series, we can't help but take notice of the Israeli eye candy on camera too with Gal Toren just tearing up the screen!  Gal comes in with a couple of butt bearing scenes that is bound to blister your blintz but it's his sneaky buffness that is going to truly delight as he shows off that toned torso quite a bit in this series!
