It is hot in Texas, so it’s no wonder the state produces some of the most sizzling stars on the silver screen. Case in point: Dallas-born cutie Luke Wilson. The darker of the three acting Wilson brothers (see: Owen Wilson and Andrew Wilson), the trio broke into Hollywood, along with Wes Anderson, with a 13-minute short film called Bottle Rocket (written by Wes and Owen) that premiered at Sundance. Director James L. Brook saw it, was impressed, and turned it into a full-length feature film, creating Luke’s first full movie role. The rest, as they say, is history. And to share some of that, Mr. Man is going to run down a few of his more popular and famous roles, of which there have been many. He's been Elle Woods’ teacher, boyfriend, and husband Emmett in the Legally Blonde movies (2001, 2003) with Reese Witherspoon; the Godfather Mitch in Old School (2003) with Will Ferrell; Cameron Diaz's love interest Pete in the Charlie’s Angels movies (2000, 2003); steals Sarah Jessica Parker from Dermot Mulroney in The Family Stone (2005); and worked with Wes Anderson again as Dr. Peter Flynn in Rushmore (1998), and as Richie Tenenbaum in The Royal Tennebaums (2001). You can also see him in Scream 2 (1997), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), Blades of Glory (2007), and Zombieland: Double Tap (2019). And that’s just on the big screen. On the little screen, you can admire his charm and bare chest as Bill Hanson in Showtime’s Roadies in 2016, and his primetime presence as Pat Dugan, aka S.T.R.I.P.E., in Stargirl from 2020-2021. If you think you’ve seen his shapely ass in the raw, it wasn’t in the movie My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006)—that’s a butt double. But Mr. Man has a really good imagination, so it will do.
