Mad Max (1979)

Set in the dystopian future in the unforgiving landscape of Australia, the action flick Mad Max (1979) stars Mel Gibson as the titular madman Max Rockatansky, an overworked policeman who is more than tired of his job, which inevitably led to his early retirement. Since the apocalypse hit Down Under, social decay and anarchy has been running rampant, and the long, desolate stretches of the highway that runs through the outback have become blood-covered battlegrounds. Max has grown tired of watching his fellow officers murdered by a marauding group of motorcycle-riding lawbreakers. Max’s world is further devastated when the motorcycle bad dudes, led by the evil Toecutter (Hugh Keays-Byrne), kill his wife, Jessie (Joanne Samuel), son, and best friend, “Goose” (Steve Bisley). With nothing left to lose and revenge in his blood, Max dons a helmet and hits the highway in a souped-up racing machine and starts killing those responsible for his family’s death. Taking time between killing dudes, Mel Gibson dons a yellow towel and flaunts his fine upper body. A shirtless Gibson will drive you mad to the max!
