Prisma (2022)

A young adult drama that follows the complexities of identity, appearance, and sexual orientation within a group of young teenagers in the Lazio region of Italy, Prisma’s central figures are a set of twins, both played by Mattia Carrano, on their separate journeys of self-discovery. Writer-director Ludovico Bessegato sees the series as a way to showcase the younger generation, “a generation that seems to live and choose the spaces in between in the broadest possible sense… no longer normal, no longer different. Only an infinity of unique existences.” The revealing coming-of-age series doesn’t skimp on the skin as it challenges gender norms, with lots of svelte, shirtless swimmers, an intimate scene between Carrano and an amorous young lady, and Lorenzo Zurzolo baring his cute buns in the shower. Something tells us one look won’t be enough!
