Purge (2012)

A young girl and an old woman share a horrendous secret in the Finnish historical drama Purge (2012). Set in the conflicted and violent territory of Estonia, Zara (Amanda Pilke) is a troubled young woman with pink hair and a punky attitude who is taken in by Aiide (Lisi Tandefelt), kindly elderly and very paranoid woman, after she discovers Zara hiding in her garden. The two share a horrifying past of torture, persecution and sexual slavery at the hands of the Russian Mafia, a tragedy that the film does not shy away from depicting in graphic and sometimes horrifying ways. But if you can take the traumatic subject matter, we are treated to full view of Peter Franzén’s gloriously perfect butt as he dries off after a sensually-awkward sponge bath. That should give you the urge to purge.
