Samson and Delilah (1949)

The Cecil B. DeMille classic Samson and Delilah (1949) is the expansive retelling of the events and characters presented in the Old Testament book of Judges. Victor Mature portrays the titular strongman, a Danite with a good heart and an eye for Semadar (Angela Lansbury), a Philistine noblewoman. Young love turns to murderous revenge when Semadar is killed during a fight between Samson and Semadar’s suitor, Prince Ahtur (Henry Wilcoxon). The slain sweetie’s sister, Delilah (Hedy Lamarr), who has a crush on Samson, vows revenge on him for being involved with her sis’s death. The titular babe plans on seducing Samson into revealing the source of his strength and then turn him over to The Saran of Gaza (George Sanders), the leader of the Philistines.

Unfortunately this flick from the past doesn’t harvest much flesh. We get a quick scene of Victor Mature’s built bod as he emerges from a pool and lounges around without his shirt. It would take all the strength in the world to hold Mr. Man back from ravishing Victor!
