I Wake Up Screaming (1941) is a film noir directed by H. Bruce Humberstone and starring Victor Mature, Betty Grable, and Carole Landis. Originally titled Hot Spot, this drama follows a promoter being accused of the murder of an actress he had been grooming after discovering her working as a waitress. While being pursued by a determined police officer the man hides out with the victim’s sister who he begins to fall for. The vivacious Victor Mature strips down for his lead role as accused murderer Frankie Christopher.
