Sunset Song (2015)

Many, many years in the making, revered British auteur Terence Davies’ passion project Sunset Song (2015) is an adaptation of the classic Scottish novel of the same name by Lewis Grassic Gibbon, and it tells the story of a young Scottish farm girl (played by Agyness Deyn) who, through various means, attempts to gain her independence as a person, against very long odds and a great deal of setbacks, and the whole thing is told in the usual, beautifully lyrical way that Davies tends to tell stories. The other major star of the film is Scottish stud Kevin Guthrie, whose ass we see briefly in one rather unpleasant scene. In a different, altogether much more pleasant scene, however, we get to see his ass again—in all of its hot, hairy glory--(along with perhaps part of the back of his sack) as he has passionate sex with a young woman in bed.
