The Fabelmans (2022)

Oscar winning director Steven Spielberg gets introspective with The Fabelmans (2022), a loosely fictionalized autobiography of the varying elements that came together to make him into the celebrated filmmaker he is today. Ever since he was a young boy, Sammy Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle) has processed seemingly everything in his life through the literal lens of a camera. Little does he know realize that in addition to filming the many happy times in his childhood, he is also capturing the end of his parents' marriage as his dad Burt (Paul Dano) stands by obliviously while his mom Mitzi (Michelle Williams) begins to an emotional affair with his dad's best friend Bennie (Seth Rogen). After playing a young Jon Bernthal on American Gigolo this same year, Gabriel LaBelle does well as a young Spielberg, even showing off his fit physique in some period appropriate swim trunks! Gabriel can ring our LaBelle anytime he likes!
