Set in Vienna in 1957, the erotic drama The Night Porter (1974) is sometimes considered the most controversial film of all time, and it's not hard to understand why. The film centers on Max (Dirk Bogarde), the titular character that is employed at a fancy hotel. He seems like a pretty normal guy who mostly keeps to himself, until one day a woman named Lucia (Charlotte Rampling) comes to his hotel and he freaks out. Ends up, fifteen years ago Max was a Nazi SS leader who worked at a concentration camp where he took Lucia as his special sex slave, with whom he had a sadomasochistic relationship. Max and a bunch of other former SS leaders hang out together and have vowed to kill anyone who could expose their secrets and have them hung, but that gets complicated when Max and Lucia start hooking up again. With the cops coming from one side and the former Nazis coming from the other, there's is a doomed romance, but a romance all the same. Yeah, you can see why this one kicked an absolute hornet's nest barely over thirty years after the Nazis surrendered. The most controversial scene was one where Charlotte Rampling goes tits out in a Nazi uniform, but we much preferred the full-frontal offerings from Nino Bignamini and some thong-wearing, butt-baring scenes from Amedeo Amodio. Nino shows his big namini when he's putting on a pair of whitey tighties getting out of bed, while Adedeo plays a poor ballet dancer forced to strip down and entertain the guards of his concentration camp. Despite all that malnutrition, he is absolutely ripped from head to toe as he does his dance to a rather uninterested audience. Later, he'll get a shot in the butt that's so tight we can't imagine how the needle penetrated it. The SS got to see some hot a-ss in The Night Porter!
