The Science of Sleep (2006)

Before audiences settled in to watch Sleeping With Other People (2015), Sleeping Beauties (2017), Sleepy Hollow (2013-2017), Sleep (2020) and Tonight You’re Sleeping with Me (2023), they went to see The Science of Sleep (2006). Under the pen and direction of Michel Gondry, this R rated fantasy tells the story of a shy man named Stéphane Miroux (Gael García Bernal) who lives in Mexico. After his father passes away, Stéphane moves to Paris to live with his mother Christine (Miou-Miou). While getting to know her better, the young man gets a boring job and meets a beautiful artist (Charlotte Gainsbourg) who lives next door. As the title suggests, Stéphane fantasizes about sleeping with this dream girl. Meanwhile, Mr. Man has some wet dreams abut Mr. Bernal. This is especially the case when the alluring actor flashes his abs in the bath. Rub a dub dub! If that’s not hot enough, Gael sizzles on screen when he struts his stuff in the buff while sleepwalking down the hall. When you fast forward to the 42-minute mark, you can ogle the leading man’s bare back and ass. Better yet, the nude dude goes full frontal! Yes, we are treated to a peek at the skintastic actor’s chest, pubes and junk. The dream guy is a sight for sore eyes — and a soft peen! Also known as La Science des rêves, this skinternational flick features dialogue in French, English and Spanish. Yet whenever Gael García Bernal shows his skin, there’s no need for translation!
