What do you get when you mix teens with a mysterious crime drama? Twisted (2013-2014). Not to be confused with the R rated flick Twisted (2004) starring Ashley Judd and Andy Garcia, this TV series ran on the ABC Family channel. As such, don’t expect to see any dudity. What you will find is a thriller about sixteen-year-old Danny Desai (Avan Jogia) who killed his aunt when he was just eleven. What a sweet kid! After serving his five-year sentence in juvenile detention, Danny is free so he heads back to his small hometown to get on with his life. While trying to rebuild his friendships with childhood buddies Jo (Ashton Moio) and Lacey Porter (Kylie Bunbury), he must deal with his unforgiving neighbors. If that’s not challenging enough, Danny’s past comes back to bite him in the butt when he becomes a prime suspect in the murder of a fellow classmate. Determined to clear his besmirched name, the ex-con aggressively tries to solve the murder case. Why did Danny kill his aunt? Good question. It’s a secret he tries to maintain yet to find out the truth, home viewers must tune in. Not enough to get you to watch? Maybe the fact that Avan bares his chest in episode 12 will entice you. How about seeing Jack Falahee’s awesome abs in episode 19. Of course, if these guys revealed their rumps, the short-lived show might still be on. Nevertheless, we’re hoping for a reboot — or should we say, a re-booty?
