Edward James Olmos made his directorial debut with American Me (1992), a crime drama that chronicles the rise of the Mexican mafia in California's prison system back in the 1950's. Based on the true story of legendary La eMe gangster Rodolfo Alvorado Cadena, Olmos plays his fictional counterpart Montoya Santana. Montoya heard that his family get assaulted during the Zoot Suit Riots as a child, so as a teenager him and a few buddies form a gang. They're mostly doing stupid teenager stuff but when a juvie inmate does the prison thing to him, Montoya kills him and ends up with an eighteen-year sentence at Folsom Prison. Montoya ends up running La eMe, but when he's let out in 1977 he starts to question the whole thing. After falling in love with a woman named Julie (Evelina Fernandez) who loathes what his former gang is doing to her community, Montoya wants to put an end to the gang. But back when he was running things Montoya created a rule that anyone who tried to leave the gang or stop it from fulfilling its goals has be killed. So, that's a bit of a conundrum right there. Rumor has it that some of the real-life gangsters who worked as consultants on the movie got killed when the gang didn't appreciate some of the gay stuff the movie portrayed. What a shame! Those scenes were Mr. Man's favorite part! Specifically, our favorite body part was Panchito Gomez's ass, which we get to see when he's stripped down in prison and when he tries to fight off a dude making him his prison bitch. That's one grade A piece of All American man meat in American Me!
