Murder in the First (1996) tells the story of Henri Young (Kevin Bacon) and his troubled life in Alcatraz. When Young arrives for a petty crime, he tries to escape the infamous prison island. After his attempt fails, Young is sent to solitary confinement for over 3 years. Upon his release, Young kills a prisoner and is put on trial for the murder. A young ambitious attorney, James Stamphill (Christian Slater), is put on the case and tries to prove that the actual murderer was actually Alcatraz itself. Bacon shows off his hams a few times, but they’re in prison conditions and not the best look. Check out Wild Things (1998) if you’re achin’ to see more Bacon.
