Murder in the First (1995)

After directing Scenes from the Goldmine (1987) and Dream a Little Dream (1989), Marc Rocco whipped out his killer flick Murder in the First (1996), not to be confused with the TNT series Murder in the First (2014-2016). Inspired by actual people, this R rated pic gives a partially fictionalized account of Henri Young (Kevin Bacon) and his troubled life behind bars. When Young is sent to Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary for a petty crime, he tries to escape the infamous prison island. After his attempt fails, the cute captive is sent to solitary confinement for more than three years! Upon his release, Young kills a prisoner and is put on trial for the murder. Fortunately for him, a young and ambitious attorney named James Stamphill (Christian Slater) is put on the case. Thinking outside the box, James tries to prove that the real murderer is Alcatraz itself. The legal drama includes Gary Oldman as a prison warden; William H. Macy as a prosecuting district attorney; Embeth Davidtz as a defense lawyer; R. Lee Ermey as a judge; and Kyra Sedgwick as a prostitute. The film also features Brad Dourif, Mia Kirshner, and Mr. Bacon’s bare body! Yes, the nude dude reveals his acting chops as well as his naked T&A — just 3 minutes into the movie! At the risk of repeating himself, Kevin flashes his abs and ass again at the 01:16:15 mark. If that’s not skintastic enough, Bacon also reveals his penis 5 minutes into the flick. Nice penal code!
