Big Muddy (2014)

The modern-ish Western Big Muddy (2014) follows Martha Barlow (Nadia Litz), an untrustworthy grifter trying to come to terms with her dark past: one that is made darker by a murder her son Andy (Justin Kelly) committed to try and make her life easier. While on the run with her new man/partner in petty crime Tommy (Rossif Sutherland), she finds herself dodging her crazy revenge-filled former boyfriend and father of Andy, Donovan Fournier (David La Haye). He's an escaped convict who is on the run from the police after taking out a few cops during his prison break, who is looking to make amends with his son. The only solution Martha can come up with is to ditch Tommy, grab Andy, and go to her father's farm in Big Muddy where they can both leave their criminal pasts behind. Of course, that's easier said than done and it's not long before both Tim and Donovan are hot on their trails. If that sounds like a lot to keep up with, you might understand why some critics dubbed writer/director Jefferson Moneo's feature film debut "Big Muddled." That’s a lot of questionable characters to keep track of, but there's no question which one is the hottest. At one point in the movie, Philip Granger strips down to his undies as a stripper gives him a lapdance. The husky, beefy dude is having the time of his life tossing money around, until Martha barges in and robs him! She robbed us of him taking all his clothes off, but at least we got to see his bulge! That scene in Big Muddy will fill your mind with dirty thoughts!
