Review

In 1991, eight researchers packed themselves into "Biosphere II," a giant closed ecological system in Arizona believed to be able to sustain itself with no outside help. Despite receiving a ton of publicity at the time, that experiment lasted just two years and was largely forgotten, while the goofy movie making fun of it, Bio-Dome (1996), lives on in the hearts of stoner Gen-Xers everywhere. In the film, Bud and Doyle (Pauly Shore and Stephen Baldwin) are dim-witted dudes drifting through their days. After being dumped by their environmentally conscience crushes (Joey Adams and Teresa Hill), the dumb duo mistakenly get locked inside the Bio-Dome after thinking it was a mall that'd have a clean bathroom for them to use. Since the experiment's rules explicitly state that nobody is allowed to leave for a year after the bio-doors have been closed, the pair are stuck living alongside the scientists. Of course, they cause all sorts of chaos and ruin the scientist's experiments, but in the end the stoner studs save the science by helping their doctorate dome dormies’ research. They'll end up with sexy scientist girlfriends, discover a secret dastardly plan by the evil Doctor Noah Faulkner (William Atherton), use their agricultural abilities to create an amazing new strain of weed, and all sorts of other silly stuff that's typical of a Pauly Shore movie. Wanna see Stephen Baldwin's ass? Shore you do! The burned-out Baldwin bares his alabaster bio-bubble as he presses his dashing domes against the glass to moon the news cameras. Trapped in a bubble with nothing to do? Oh, Mr. Man would give him some dome for sure! That white ass will have you saying, there’s no place like dome.
