Choke (2008)

Based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel of the same name, Choke (2008) follows Victor Mancini (Sam Rockwell), a sex-addict working a shit job as an actor at a historical-flavored tourist trap, reenacting scenes from Colonial America. Victor’s best bud and co-worker, Denny (Brad William Henke), is also addicted to the ol’ in-and-out. Inside the body of the sex-crazed Victor rests a beating heart, one that beats heavily for his hospitalized mother Ida (Anjelica Houston), who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Of course, this is America, so without socialized health care, mom’s medical bills continue to pile up, forcing her son to get creative with his money-making schemes. Instead of getting another job, Victor dines out at upscale restaurants and “chokes” on food so his rescuers shower him with cash out of sympathy. Hey, it’s Chuck Palahniuk, what did you expect? The sex-fiend inside of the choker gets ignited when his mother’s doctor (Kelly Macdonald) suggests some stem cell treatment that pretty much has him having sex with her. For a film that revolves around a sex-obsessed fellow, the nudity is rather tame. Sam Rockwell does tease the slightest amount of ass during an anal bead-enhanced moment of oral sex. Anal beads plus a blow job plus Sam Rockwell equals perfection!
