Fresh Off the Boat (2015-2018)

As if belonging to an immigrant family in Washington DC's Chinatown wasn't culturally conflicting enough for 11-year-old Eddie Huang, moving to predominately white Orlando to start a family steakhouse was. Fresh Off the Boat starts here as the rap-loving Eddie starts at a new middle school and tries to escape much of the Taiwanese culture he's grown up with. His dad is more than happy to embrace Orlando, but his mom is reluctant to leave her family and way of life behind. The result is a cultural mashup set in the 90s, when Biggie Smalls and Lunchables were the hallmarks of American adolescence. Randall Park plays Eddie's dad, a charismatic man with a penchant for taking his shirt off. Could he get any better?
