Review

Martial arts icon Bruce Lee showcases his acting, directing, screenwriting and producing skills (as well as his muscular chest) in Game of Death (1978). Alas, the aptly-titled movie proved to be the action star’s last since he died of a cerebral edema during the shoot. As such, director Robert Clouse and several body doubles (Albert Sham, Chris Kent, Kim Tai-jong, and Yuen Biao) were brought in to complete the production. Released years after Lee passed away, the crime drama features plenty of pecs. The story begins when Hai Tien (Lee) survives a murder attempt. He lets everyone think he’s dead in order to plot his revenge and rescue his fiancée (Colleen Camp). Along the way, he encounters Dr. Land (Dean Jagger), Hakim (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar), Jim Marshall (Gig Young), Pasqual (Dan Inosanto), Steiner (Hugh O’Brian), Uncle Henry Lo (Roy Chiao), and the skin on a young and chiseled Chuck Norris. Just 3 minutes into the pic, the shirtless dude battles it out with an equally topless Lee. Wait another 15 minutes to view Bruce’s toned torso as he practices more moves. As you can guess, he puts the thrills into this action thriller! In addition to admiring Bruce’s fit physique, we get to see Carl Miller (Robert Wall) and Lo Chen (Sammo Kam-Bo Hung) fight shirtless in the ring at the 52-minute mark. Mr. Wall’s rugged bod is also on display when he fights Lee 58 minutes in. Suffice it to say, the manly martial artists of Game of Death are dead sexy!
