With this long string of critical bombs, it’s hard to believe Kate Hudson was able to continue an acting career. But it’s unfair to say she’s only made bad romantic comedies. She’s made poorly-received action thrillers too! Take Good People (2014), not to be confused with the mystery movie Such Good People (2014). Based on Marcus Sakey’s same-named novel, this R rated flick follows Tom (James Franco) and Anna (Hudson) Wright. They’re an average apartment-dwelling couple who fall into debt while renovating some real estate in London. As such, their dream of starting a family and living in a nice home quickly fades away. If that’s not upsetting enough, they discover the tenant in the apartment unit below them has been murdered. But there’s a silver lining: he left behind $400,000 in cash! As you might expect, the Wrights decide to use this found loot to get out of debt. But when they continue to flash their cash, they draw attention from some unsavory individuals. Luckily, the savory Mr. Franco gives us a quick peek at his naked T&A while he’s in the shower. Good People? More like Great Posterior!
