Review

Based on the acclaimed novel by Stephen Amidon, Human Capital (2013) concerns two families, one led by a wealthy hedge-fund manager named Giovanni Bernaschi, and the other, Dino Ossola, a struggling real estate agent expecting twins. Fearing the new addition will break the already fragile bank, Dino decides to leverage his daughter’s relationship with Giovanni’s son and manipulate his way into the family’s hedge-fund. But after a fatal hit and run accident, things further unravel, altering the lives of both families forever. Giovanni Anzaldo shacks up with his naked lady, who asks him why he insists keeping a shirt on. It’s a valid question, but at least he’s pantsless, showing his round ass as he lounges sideways next to her. Gugliemo Pinelli twice shows off his cut taut torso, first rushing out the door chasing his girl, and later in swim trunks, tossing her in the pool. But getting things going just six minutes in is Fabrizio Gifuni, who pulls off the Where’s Waldo of full frontal scenes, walking naked far in the distance as the camera focuses on two men talking in the foreground. It’s the kind of scene for which optimal zoom was invented.
