In The Face of Crime (2010)

The face of global entertainment depends on face-titled productions — from the American pic Angel Face (1952) and the French flick Eyes Without a Face (1960) to the Danish series Face to Face (2019-2023) with the Spanish thriller The Hidden Face (2011) in between. Of course, we must mention the German saga The Face of Crime (2010), also known as Im Angesicht des Verbrechens. Drawing favorable comparisons to Twin Peaks (1990-1991), this critically-acclaimed show revolves around a ruthless and bloody war between two Russian gangs in Berlin. The 10-part drama follows Marek Gorsky (Max Riemelt) and Sven Lottner (Ronald Zehrfeld), a pair of ambitious cops looking to make a name for themselves on the force. While tracking down mobster Sergej Sokolov (Georgeiy Povoloskiy), Marek tries to solve the murder of his brother. At the same time, a young Russian gal named Jelena (Alina Levshin) and her best friend Swetlana (Katja Nesytowa) are nabbed and sold into prostitution. It’s up to the police to help save these ladies, bring down the warring mafia groups, and restore safety. It’s up to us, to tell you who flashes their flesh. For starters, Sascha Alexander Gersak reveals his rump in episode 2, while Marko Mandic displays his naked T&A in episodes 3, 4 and 6. Not to be outdone, Mišel Matičević bares his chest, junk and buns in episode 4. By episode 9, Mr. Riemelt goes full frontal as well as exposing his booty. We’re guessing this crime show will have you doing time with yourself!
