Invasion (2021)

Invasion is a science fiction series that debuted on Apple TV in the fall of 2021 and, despite the title, isn't related to the classic sci fi novel Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The series is set in five different locations around the globe, each of them undergoing an invasion by an alien species and each of them having a unique perspective on said invasion. One story concerns a woman named Aneesha (Golshifteh Farahani) who is devastated to learn that her husband has been carrying on an affair with an Instagram influencer literal minutes before nearly all of the homes in her Long Island community are destroyed by the invaders. In London, a busload of rowdy teenagers plummet into a deep crevasse where they are cut off from the world and fall into a Lord of the Flies-esque caste system. In Japan, an astronaut named Hinata (Rinko Kikuchi) arrives at the International Space Station just prior to the invasion and finds her communication with earth cut off. In Afghanistan, an American soldier (Shamier Anderson) finds himself surrounded not only by aliens, but by locals who don't know whether they can trust him as an American. And finally, a small town sheriff (Sam Neill) is in his final week on the job when the invasion occurs, leading him to believe he won't be able to retire on time. Being an Apple TV series, we shouldn't expect much nudity, though thankfully we do get some sexy shirtless action from Alex Hernandez as one of the soldiers stationed in Afghanistan! This show could stand to have an Invasion of some nude dudes!
