Kimi is a sleek Steven Soderbergh thriller that takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic. It's hailed as the first good COVID-19 pandemic movie (don't listen to them K.J. Apa! We loved Songbird) and stars "it" actress Zoë Kravitz as an agoraphobic hacker who stumbles upon a secret that puts her in the crosshairs. Her job is to listen to the intel collected through an Amazon Echo-ish device called Kimi. She manually corrects each of Kimi's mistakes so that the devices can interact more seamlessly with their owners. (Naturally, this is where Kimi gets into issues of user privacy and consumer rights.) While listening in, Zoë hears something that jeopardizes the reputation of one of Kimi's founders, just days before the company's huge IPO. Uh oh! She now has to face her agoraphobia head-on and use her skills as a hacker to save herself from Jeff Bezos. I mean! Steven Soderbergh is one of the most celebrated directors of our time, and is the perfect man to take on the undeniably creepy world of "smart speakers." Plus the movie exists in a world where the pandemic is merely a fact of life rather than the makings of a thriller complete with a gratuitously soapy outdoor shower. (We love you K.J. Apa!) So, you're probably wondering what Kimi has in the dude department, and sadly we are here to report - not a heck of a lot. Don't get us wrong, we're super into the cute Byron Bowers, but he keeps covered here and only shows his torso while shirtless in bed. Kimi, deliver nude Byron Bowers to us please!
