Love (2016-2018)

Love is a Netflix original series that follows two meandering, lugubrious souls who come together and fall in… love. Producer and writer Judd Apatow’s continued foray into television (he’s also behind the similarly acerbic HBO dramedy Girls), boasts his signature foul yet ultimately fuzzy storytelling. Love delivers a cynical take on the modern romance with biting dialogue and brilliant acting from leads Gillian Jacobs (who plays Mickey) and Paul Rust (as Gus). Mickey is a radio producer lost in a haze of meaningless sex and drugs. Her chance meeting with the quirky, geeky, nice guy Gus at a convenience store leads to a romance made in millennial heaven. We’re in heaven after seeing the slew of shirtless studs that make their way into Love. Paul Rust sheds his clothes in multiple scenes while getting it on with Gillian, while Jason Dill, Brett Gelman, and Kyle Kinane join in on the fun, with Kyle even showing buns! What’s not to love?
