Squeezed between the 1975 TV show and its 2017 TV remake, the big screen crime thriller S.W.A.T. (2003) was a modern update of the high-octane action TV show, only with more modern crime scenarios. The film follows Jim Street (Colin Farrell), a hotshot cop and crack shot who goes rogue alongside his partner Brian Gamble (Jeremy Renner) during a wild Hollywood bank robbery. Street gets demoted, while Gamble gets pissed and quits, convinced Street was only allowed to stay on the force by turning on him. When Sgt. Dan Harrelson (Samuel L. Jackson) is tasked with putting together an eliet S.W.A.T team, he recognizes Street's skills and hires him, alongside T.J. (Josh Charles), the veteran on the force; Chris Sanchez (Michelle Rodriguez), a tough single mom; and Deacon (LL Cool J), a cut up comic relief type. Together, the stellar team must transport Alex Montel (Olivier Martinez), a French crime boss, to federal authorities. But it won’t be an easy task, considering the minute he gets on camera, Montel declares that he'll give 100 million dollars to anyone who can help him escape. Soon enough, all sorts of riffraff are trying to break Montel free, including a pissed off ex-cop who knows a thing or two about police tactics. Everybody looks hot in S.W.A.T. but LL Cool J is on another level. At one point, the Cool J ladies love lifts up his shirt to show everyone how well defined his abs are. That torso is the definition of toned! Later, he'll go totally shirtless in the locker room to really drive home the point about how much he's been lifting. He'd have to swat Mr. Man away if he took his shirt off around us.
