Home is where the heart is (or at least where home entertainment goes), so it’s no surprise to see movies entitled Road House (2024), House Party (2023), House of Gucci (2021), House on Elm Lake (2017), Housebroken (2013), House of Pleasures (2011), House of Boys (2009), The House Bunny (2008), House of Wax (2005), The Lake House (2006), The House of Sand (2005), House of Sand and Fog (2003), House on Haunted Hill (1999), and Safe House (1998). Under the direction of Eric Steven Stahl (who co-wrote the script with John Schalter and Sean McLain), the latter flick will mess with your head since the less you know, the safer you’ll be according to this psychological thriller. Patrick Stewart stars as Mace Sowell, a retired intelligence operative who learns that his life in danger when a group of baddies discovers he has incriminating evidence regarding a presidential hopeful. With the heat on, Mace locks himself in a secure compound and works to disseminate the damning information to the public via some password-based technology. To complicate matters, the ex-agent is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease! As such, his daughter (Joy Kilpatrick) thinks her dad is delusional and paranoid which causes her to hire a psychiatrist (Kimberly Williams) to observe him. With his disease quickly advancing, Mace has a difficult time remembering his password, further putting his life in jeopardy. Between all of this drama and danger, Mr. Stewart finds time to flash his abs, ass and shaft in the shower. Beam us up, Scotty!
