Director John Landis is known for comedies like The Blues Brothers (1980) and Trading Places (1983). It’s been a while since he’s had a hit, though, and Susan's Plan (1998) barely got released onto video. Nastassja Kinski stars as Susan, whose plan involves killing her husband Paul (Adrian Paul) for some insurance money. Her lover (and insurance agent) Sam (Billy Zane) helps out, while Michael Biehn and Rob Schneider screw up the murder. Dan Akroyd shows up as a biker without a bike. Lara Flynn Boyle also appears as a scheming gal who’s the smartest of the bunch, although she’s not above seducing doctor Thomas Haden Church. Thank goodness too, because Mr. Church’s body is a religious experience, and he has a sensual, albeit very brief, scene featuring a side view of his thrusting rump. Susan obviously should have showed off more of this studs shrine! Clearly, that was some poor planning!
