The Cakemaker (2017) follows a baker in Germany whose affair with a married Israeli man comes to an end after his lover dies in an accident. He is beside himself with grief, so he goes to Jerusalem to learn more about his beloved where he ends up inserting himself in his lover's widow's life. He starts baking cakes at her cafe which makes her cafe a huge attraction and makes him an invaluable part of her life, despite the lie he is carrying with him.
