The Secret Agent (2025)

The arthouse sensation of the 2025 Oscar season, the Brazilian thriller O Agente Secreto or The Secret Agent (2025) features a bravura performance from Wagner Moura! Moura stars as Armando Solimões, a former professor and widower traveling with his young son Fernando to a refuge for political dissidents run by former revolutionary Dona Sebastiana, played by the incredible Tânia Maria! Befriending other likeminded people within the encampment, Armando is soon drafted into political action, which he goes along with hoping to uncover information about his long lost mother and what may have happened to her. This epic film delivers plenty of thrills and chills, but is somewhat light on spills, if we're being honest! They could've titled this flick The Battle of the Bulge, with leading man Wagner Moura bulging out his boxers, co-star Roney Villela bulging out his bathing suit, and while we never see what's going on below Erivaldo Oliveira's belt, we can assume he's bulging out his khakis too!
