Rome (2000-2007)

How often does Mr. Man think about the Roman Empire? Not often, but he's constantly thinking about all the hot dudes on the HBO series Rome! Written, in part, by Apocalypse Now (1979) screenwriter John Mlilus, the show began in 2005 and lasted only two seasons but remains one of HBO's most critically appreciated shows. Season one was all about Julius Caesar (Ciaran Hinds) crossing the Rubicon and kicking off a Civil War before ending up a dictator, while also following around a young fella named Gaius Octavian (Max Pirkis) as he thinks about starting a career in politics. At the end of the first season, it's all et tu Brute (Tobias Menzies), which takes us into season two's primary plotline of the power struggle between Octavian and Mark Antony (James Purefoy) who'd both like to take Caesar's spot as the head of Rome. The producers of this series strived to make it as realistic as possible, so we saw the everyday dirt and grime of life in Rome as well as the sex, nudity and hedonism that surrounded it. This epic drama saw many a meat sword sheathed inside various lucky ladies. Often times the men, from common, everyday people all the way up to Caesar himself wore little or nothing under their robes, as nudity was not something to be ashamed of. Much of the male cast shows their strong, well-toned, naked bodies including numerous ass shots and enough full frontals to get you so worked up you will lay siege to your southern region. Highlights include Silvio Evangelista playing a slave with the biggest cock the Empire has ever seen! That thing is a damn battering ram! Rocky Marshall and Lee Boardman both flash some ass while trying to initiate sex with women, but Simon Woods is successful giving a curly haired woman his wood! We see his buns thrusting in action! Tobias Menzies goes full frontal while bathing in the river. If that version of Brutus is looking to stick someone in the back, we volunteer! James Purefoy is pure joy showing his junk while tied up, though Ray Stevenson's schlong was a bit more shaded when it made its appearance. There are so many macho men showing their skin, it's a shock when we don't get to see a character's cock. As Mr. Man's favorite saying goes, when in Rome do a hot ass Roman dude.
