Urban Cowboy (1980)

John Travolta, hot off the success of Grease! (1978), continued his box office hot streak with Urban Cowboy (1980), where the New Jersey native hilariously plays Texan Bud Davis, moving from his small dirt water hometown to Houston where he takes a job working at his uncle's oil refinery. His dream is to one day move back to his hometown and buy a huge tract of land and live the ranching life, but it isn't long before Bud gets caught up in the Houston nightlife scene. Attracted to the mechanical bull riding bar Gilley's, he eventually meets and marries Sissy (Debra Winger) and the pair become the king and queen of the honky tonk bar. Though Sissy wants to ride the bull, Bud won't let her because he claims it is too dangerous. However, when the bar employs recently paroled convict Wes (Scott Glenn) to run the mechanical bull, Bud's jealousy begins to surface. The couple eventually splits and Bud goes into a self destructive spiral, but he eventually sets his sights on winning a $5000 prize at Gilley's, hoping that this could bring him back to his earlier glory and perhaps even help him win back Sissy. While the film is devoid of any nudity, it's a great place to catch John Travolta in his shirtless heartthrob prime, showing off his fantastic physique in a number of sexy scenes! Throw in some sexy grizzled shirtless action from Scott Glenn and you're bound to mount up and start screaming "Yee ha!" Provided you're into that sort of thing!
