Vacationland (2006)

The relatively small and beautiful town of Bangor, Maine serves as the backdrop for the coming-of-age drama Vacationland (2006). Brad Hallowell stars as Joe, a high school senior that yearns to leave his claustrophobic town and attend art school. With a bunch of emotional baggage and family drama, Joe leaves home and shacks up with Victor (Charles Ard), an aging artist to work as his part-time caretaker and model. Like every normal teen, Joe has a crush that’s driving him crazy. He’s in love with his friend Andrew (Gregory J. Lucas), a popular jock on the school’s football team. With the encouragement of his friends Kris (Mindy Hofman) and Mandy (Jennifer Stackpole), Joe follows his heart and hooks with Andrew. In the process, the wayward teen attempts to blackmail, scheme and cheat his way into an art school in Rhode Island. As Joe gets closer to his dream, his sad and violent past rears its ugly head, cramping the determined teen’s goals. Thankfully for us, Brad Hallowell rears his fine rear in multiple scenes throughout the film. Mr. Man would love to vacay there!
