Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later (2017)

Sixteen years after the wild flick Wet Hot American Summer (2001) set the world on fire with its absurd number of A-listers and hilarious pseudo-spoofing of all the sex comedies and summer camp stuff the 80's put out nearly constantly, it was time for a reunion! Setting aside the 80's sex stuff, Netflix's 2017 series Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later set its sort of spoofing sites on the reunion flicks like The Big Chill (1983), St. Elmo's Fire (1985), and Indian Summer (1993). Taking place in 1991, 10 years after the original movie, this time Adam Scott is in as Bradley Cooper post-nose job, which is pretty hilarious, but the rest of the cast is relatively the same. The reunion at Camp Firewood is anything but tame, of course, since our crowd of adults who were pretending to be teens, are now older adults pretending to be young ones. That means they can now legally drink, screw and do all sorts of things adults do! And every camper returns with an agenda. McKinley (Michael Ian Black) and Ben (Adam Scott) are looking to rekindle their romance by bringing along a nanny (Alyssa Milano) who ends up being a psychopath. Susan (Amy Poehler) wants everyone to know how successful she's become in Hollywood so all her camp haters can suck on it. Victor (Ken Marino) just wants to get his V-card punched, while Katie (Marguerite Moreau) thinks she'll finally be able to hook up with Coop (Michael Showalter). While the original trip to Camp Firewood gave Mr. Man some serious lumber thanks to a few genuine skin scenes, this one never gave us any real nudity. But that doesn't mean there's not some hot stuff! We get a great makeout scene between Adam Scott and Michael Ian Black to whet our appetites, plus shirtless, curly-haired Ken Marino as a rather athletic bartender doing some erotic dancing at a rave. Is Mr. Man camping, because suddenly he's pitching a tent! Meanwhile, the ageless Paul Rudd competes with young blood Skyler Gisondo in a hot pepper eating contest that sees the pair dressed as some sort of sexy Vikings. Apparently meeting up after a decade means everyone's getting laid in Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later!
